The Role of Adhesive Powder in DTF Printing
Learn why DTF adhesive powder is part of a matched printing process and how supplier guidance and sample testing help assess the result.

DTF adhesive powder is one material used to prepare a printed film transfer for garment application. Selecting a powder starts with the complete combination of ink, film, equipment and the garment you intend to decorate.
Check compatible materials
Use current supplier technical instructions to confirm that the powder, ink, film and curing equipment are intended to work together. Ask for the safety data sheet for the exact powder and check that the product identification matches the material you plan to buy.
Use documented production settings
Check the supplier’s requirements for powder application, curing and storage. Follow the instructions for the exact products and equipment. Keep their product names and the settings used with your job details.
Assess the finished sample
Test the complete transfer process on the intended blank before a full production run. Review appearance, adhesion and the care requirements for both the transfer and garment. Keep the tested materials and settings as a reference for repeat work.
Order powder or finished transfers
For your own DTF production, review the current powder listing. Confirm the package quantity and ask print support about any missing compatibility, technical or handling information for that product before ordering.
If you need printed transfers for garment application, arrange your graphics in the gang sheet builder or upload a completed print-ready sheet. Review the pressing instructions for those finished transfers.
