What is the Lifespan of DTF Supplies?

The lifespan of Direct-to-Film (DTF) supplies, including inks and transfer films, largely depends on proper storage and handling. Understanding how long these materials last will help you maintain optimal print quality and avoid unnecessary waste.

Ink

DTF ink typically lasts for about six months before it begins to deteriorate or settle. To ensure the ink remains usable, store it in a cool, dry place and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures. Proper storage helps maintain its consistency and quality, ensuring that your prints remain vibrant and sharp.

Transfer Films

DTF transfer films should be stored in a well-ventilated area with a temperature range of 60 to 80°F and low humidity. Films can generally last between 180 to 360 days when stored correctly. Handle the films carefully to avoid damaging them with fingerprints, scratches, or creases.

Storage Tip: Keep in mind that both films and inks are typically in transit for about a month before reaching your shop. To ensure the best quality, it's ideal to store these supplies for two to three months after receiving them.

Adhesive Powder:

Printed Transfers:

  • Lifespan: Typically 6–12 months before use.
  • Storage Tips: Store flat in a dust-free, cool, and dry area to maintain transfer quality.

By storing your DTF supplies properly, you can extend their shelf life and keep your printing projects running smoothly. At Buy Bulk DTF, we recommend proper care of your inks and films to maintain top-quality results.
